To get you started, here's some important Christian information and some good resources:
♦ It's important to read the bible for yourself.
Here's a quick version of what I have learned by reading and studying the bible:
God has loved us from the very beginning and still does and always will. But, we are separated from the knowledge and experience of His love because of sin. So God sent Jesus (God actually coming into this world as a man so He could be our savior and so He could save us) to make the way back to Him, to bring us back to Himself, back to God, back to His Love, back into relationship with Him.
The bible teaches us that in the beginning God created the world and Adam and Eve, and ALL was good...it was perfect! And Adam was commanded not to eat from "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil". But no... Adam chose to follow Eve and do what the snake (the devil) suggested instead. And they disobeyed God and they sinned. Yep...Adam and Eve did as the snake suggested. (Adam followed Eve as she followed the devil's instructions instead of following God. They both believed and followed the devil's words, not God's. The devil was now the one that Adam chose to believe and follow.) Yes, Adam ate the from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
So now...we have all been born from Adam's "fallen sinful flesh". We are all born into this fallen flesh and into this fallen world of good and evil. (I think of it as...Ying and yang? That's the fallen world of Good and EVIL.) (Man did not teach me this "ying and yang" thought, nor this next OT thought, but I believe God has revealed this wisdom to my heart by His Holy Spirit. The Old Testament (OT) reads to me like it's a record of "The Fallen World of Good and Evil". That's why there is so much bad stuff in the Old Testament. And sin is why there is so much bad in this world.
Just listen to the news or just look around you. This is an evil fallen world. Adam's sin is how death and all the bad stuff entered into the world AND INTO OUR FLESH. But in the New Testament, Jesus Christ DESTROYED all the works of the devil!!! Jesus (God in the flesh) brings God's Kingdom (God's ways and right relationship with Him) back to earth as it is in heaven! ...through Jesus Christ. GLORY TO GOD! Thank you Jesus. Amen. He takes away our sin by dying in our place. He paid the penalty of our sin, He took our punishment upon Himself, by being crucified and suffering, and dying and going to hell, so we don't have to. And He clothes us in His pure and holy righteousness. Oh how glorious He is.
We each need to believe and receive His free gift, of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:38 New King James Version (NKJV) says:
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the [a]remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 4:12 New King James Version (NKJV) says:
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
John 14:6 New King James Version (NKJV) says:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY. HE IS THE WAY. THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
Glory to God. Thank you Jesus! ....opps. I got off onto a glorious rabbit trail, jumping ahead of myself. I need to get back to what I was saying.
...so now, all men are born into this fallen world through the sinful nature of Adam's fallen flesh. We can all trace our earthly birth back to Adam and therefore the bible says that now we are all born of a sinful nature and all have sinned, and the wages of sin is death (separation from God. God is life. God is love.).
BUT God loves us so much, that He came into the world as a man, our Savior, the Messiah, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, so He could destroy the works of the devil! He, God, came into this world to be crucified on the cross to die in our place to pay the penalty for our sins so we could come back into a right relationship with Him and become His children. He LOVES YOU that much that He would really do that FOR YOU. HE LOVES YOU. THAT'S WHAT THE CROSS IS ALL ABOUT. HIS LOVE FOR US. His love and grace brings us back into right relationship with Him. He longs for a right relationship with you! He loves you. He wants to live with you and in you. This is why we must be "born again". We each must choose to REPENT, turn from sin and evil, and to turn back to God, to follow God. Let Him wash away all your sin and make you a chosen child of God. He wants to live in your heart by His Holy Spirit.
